Elysium Health: Supplementing Good Health

Elysium Health is a consumer health company that aims to help people live healthier, longer. Founded by an MIT scientist Dr. Leonard Guarente, Elysium Health works to translate advances in science into health products that work. Dr. Guarente has conducted significant research on the genetic and molecular causes of aging prior to founding Elysium Health.

Elysium Health conducts extensive research and tests on its products before putting them out to market. Currently, the company is working on new products that focus on cognitive health, skin health, microbiome, muscle function, and circadian rhythms that are all in various stages of clinical and pre-clinical trials. While researching its products, Elysium Health works with well-known institutions like Harvard and Cambridge.

Right now, the company sells Basis—a daily supplement that works to support cellular health within our bodies. Basis increases levels of NAD+ in our cells, a coenzyme that naturally decreases in levels as we grow older. NAD+ is key to many of our cellular functions. By increasing levels of NAD+ in our cells as we grow older, Basis supports those functions and helps our cellular health as a result.

Basis is sold on Elysium Health’s website. There are several options available for those who want to purchase it: a monthly subscription, a six- or twelve-month prepaid subscription to the supplement, or an individual purchase. Each individual jar of Basis contains 60 capsules, which is enough for a 30-day supply. The most popular option is the six-month subscription as it allows users to test out the long-term effects of Basis.

Basis has been clinically tested to ensure that it does, in fact, produce higher levels of NAD+ for its users and it has been third-party tested for quality as well.
